This cup, made from dark iron bearing stoneware clay, started on the potters wheel and was altered and sculpted by hand. It was decorated with a traditional Shino glaze before being finished in a kiln fired for 3 days with pine and oak wood, the ash accumulated on the surface of the clay and melted into a natural glaze that is a unique expression of the wood, smoke and heat decorating the surface of the clay.

This cup is dishwasher, tea and whiskey safe. Made to be held and used the different curves and indents are inviting and comfortable to hold.
