Bassinets

These sculptural serving vessels hold space and volume that celebrates their contents, and dignifies the role of container. The added sense of substance created by the form is dissolved by perforations which provide decorative and functional value. I think of these as vessels for the imagination because there are an inexhaustible number of ways to use them.

Vases

The inspiration for these pieces comes from the parallels of earth/geologic formations and the body and the range of attitudes and expressions conveyed simply by the form, stance, and posture. I’ve always loved the rock formations on the northern pacific coast. Massive rocks twisted by the tectonic activity and carved by the powerful movement of the waves. They still captivate me, inspiring both awe-full stillness and an urge to twist and stretch my body. This interplay between stillness and movement is the focal point for these vases. They are characters on their own that may be adorned and enhanced with flowers, leaves, and grasses.

Cups + Mugs

These are the most quintessential pots, used intimately sometimes everyday. The mugs and cups I make are made very thoughtfully to feel good in the hand in multiple positions. Whether with a handle or not they are good for hot and cold beverages to suit any craving.
